Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design, create, and maintain PostgreSQL database structures and schemas.
• Participate in application development projects and be responsible for the database architecture and            design.
• Develop efficient and optimized SQL queries to support application requirements.
• Perform routine data maintenance tasks and handle database migrations.
• Monitoring database performance to identify slowdowns or potential issues. 
•  Building high-scalable clusters, failover and hot standby solutions

• Implement backup and recovery processes and expertise in BARMAN tool.
• Deploy and manage PostgreSQL databases using AWS RDS services.
• Configure and optimize RDS instances for high availability and scalability.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies on AWS.
• Manage Linux-based servers hosting PostgreSQL databases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and system-related challenges.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement automated deployment and monitoring processes.
• Utilize tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Monitor database performance metrics and proactively optimize query execution.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks to ensure peak database performance.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Database Developer role, and have a strong working           knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of JSON and PostgreSQL support for JSON.
• Ability to work well with development and infrastructure teams in doing database design changes          and enhancement to new and existing applications.
• Working Knowledge of connection poolers (like pgBouncer).
• Expert Level SQL, PL/pgSQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
• Proven experience as a Database Programmer with expertise in PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity           checks, statistics, query optimization techniques and isolation levels
• Strong understanding of AWS RDS services and hands-on experience with managing PostgreSQL databases on AWS.
